TWO runners from Worcester and Malvern are appealing for help to complete their London Marathon fundraising.

Amy Giles and Viv Tolley are supporting children's charity PhabKids and have to raise £1,750 each in order to run.

Amy and Viv have been busy fundraising since August 2018, including a gin night at the Brick Room in Worcester, a pub crawl and a giraffe run around Worcester’s famous giraffe sculptures.

They have raised about 60 per cent of the money, but with just two months remaining, Amy and Viv need help from friends and well-wishers to get them over the financial finish-line.

They are hosting a race night at the Three Horseshoes, Malvern, on Saturday, February 16, and the Cross Keys, also in Malvern, is hosting an Easter raffle on Saturday, April 20.

Other fundraising events include a cake sale, a curry night and a non-uniform day for the students and staff at Malvern College where Viv works as a laboratory technician and a generous donation from Amy’s employers, the Card Factory on Malvern Retail Park.

Amy said: "I have inspired my friends to join me to go running and we are out three times a week as part of my training schedule . I was due to run the London Marathon last year, but had to pull out before Christmas due to injury. But now I'm back and ready."

Viv said: “I have been a regular runner with Malvern Joggers for nine years and during that time, I have completed three marathons: Paris, Manchester and Budapest. However I have always wanted to run the London Marathon."
