Two charities have received a boost from a local independent school.
Representatives from "What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful" and "Hope and Homes for Children" received cheques for £2,250 following The Downs School’s Christmas Fayre held last term.
WMYDMYB was founded in 2013 by Kim Philpotts and runs a support centre in the heart of Malvern to support children who have disabilities, additional needs and life-limiting illnesses, along with their families and siblings.
Hope and Homes for Children is a charity working towards a day when every child can grow up in a loving family, by building a movement that will eliminate orphanages throughout the world.
Headmaster, Alastair Cook, said: “The whole community here at The Downs Malvern, parents, children and staff, are thrilled to be able to organise a wide-variety of events throughout the year that will be of great benefit, not just to these two remarkable charities, but to ten others - local, national and international.
"This work was praised in our recent excellent Inspection Report in which the Inspectors wrote, ‘Pupils identify strongly with their school community and those around them. Pupils actively involve themselves in supporting local and global charities."
