THE multi-award winning Luke Doherty Blues Band, a big hit at last year's Upton Blues Festival, is appearing at St James’s Church, Welland, on Saturday, January 12, at 7.45pm.
The concert is part of an initiative to raise money for outside lighting at the church and
also to bring the arts into the village.
Viv Nelson, chairman of Little Malvern and Welland parish council said: "We have formed an active gig group that looks out for acts that will be popular in the community and this band were suggested by a number of people in this group. They have quite a local following, so we anticipate a big turn-out.”
Tickets at £10 each are available on the door or in advance from the village store in Welland, or by contacting Viv Nelson on 01684 310522, or viv@nelsontraining.co.uk.
