THE windows of shops and businesses are once again lit up with festive creativity for the town council’s annual Christmas window dressing competition.

The entries, on the theme of the 12 Days of Christmas, were judged by mayor Cynthia Palmer and Malvern Hills District Council chairman Andrea Morgan.

Malvern Hills Gallery in Great Malvern, the Wool Shack in Malvern Link, and Barnards Green Post Office were the three winners, each taking home a bag of Christmas goodies.

Entries by Malvern Book Co-op, Platinum Property Agents and AB Optics were highly commended.

Malvern Hills Gallery depicted the 12 days of Christmas with dancing ladies, gold rings and a partridge in a pear tree using a variety of materials.

Barnards Green Post Office asked local children to colour each day of the 12 days of Christmas, and the Wool Shack knitted a very elaborate goose.

The mayor and chairman thanked all those who took part in the competition.

Cllr Palmer said: “It was incredibly difficult to choose a winner and so much effort is put into making creative Christmas windows and both of us were delighted that so many businesses participated in this year’s competition. Thank you for all your support.”
