A CHRISTMAS fair is being held in aid of St Wulstan's Church, Little Malvern, where Edward Elgar and his family are buried.

The event is on Wednesday, November 28, at Welland Parish Hall from 10am to 1pm.

On offer will be everything from homemade preserves and cakes, to smoked fish, meats, cheese, sauces and hampers.

Velvet bags, ceramic kitchenware, cashmere, merino and lambswool knitwear, handmade candles, and cards, prints and original watercolours bt David Birtwhistle will also be available.

There will also be Christmas cards in a choice of five colours, which feature the church's stained-glass window of The Nativity, designed in the 1880s by Birmingham-based Hardman Studios. The Christmas cards last year raised almost £2,500 for the organ restoration project, but another £90,000 is still needed for necessary repairs to the fabric of the building.
