EMERGENCY services were called to a crash involving two vehicles on the 38 in Kempsey.
The call came at 6.47pm. Fire crew made the vehicles safe, and police and the ambulance service also attended.
A motorist who saw the aftermath said: "It looks as though it misjudged the corner and went into the fence of someone's front garden taking a road sign with it. Perhaps the police were following it as there were loads of police and an ambulance and fire engine there."
There were no reports of any serious injuries. The incident was closed at 7.22pm.
