Yardbird Arts Club founded by jazz and blues guitarist Remi Harris and his wife Dani Harris, based near Tenbury Wells, have announced an exciting new programme of events in rural settings.

Due to increasing demand the events have grown from the existing club on a country farm near Tenbury, to larger village halls in the area. World-class names such as saxophonist Alan Barnes, leading guitarist John Etheridge, vocalist Fleur Stevenson and rising jazz star Amy Roberts will perform at rural Hereford and Worcester venues between now and December.

Dani Harris, director of Yardbird Arts, who manages and hosts the evenings said: “We’re all very excited about this new series. The club is going from strength to strength, we’ve had to expand the music evenings into larger venues to cater for bigger audience numbers. It began with jazz primarily, at our home venue near Tenbury Wells, and we are now branching out into other venues and catering for other genres of music too. The recent ‘rock and blues’ night at Clows Top Victory Hall was a sell-out and we often have a waiting list for each event we hold. It’s encouraging to know there is such a strong demand for high quality live music in rural areas.

The series, which begins tonight, September 25 with Fleur Stevenson at The Hatch in Tenbury Wells, also features saxophonist Alan Barnes on October 16 at Clows Top Victory Hall and October 17 at Kingsland Coronation Hall. International guitarist John Etheridge will perform on November 30 at Clows Top Victory Hall and December 1 at Fownhope Memorial Hall. The closing gig for 2018 will welcome Amy Roberts on December 18 at Clows Top Victory Hall. Guitarist Remi Harris and double bassists Tom Moore and Simon Smith will also be performing alongside the visiting artists.

Tickets for all of these events are available from Dani Harris on 01584 881564/07814 986 868 or email yardbirdarts@gmail.com For more information please visit www.yardbirdarts.com
