MALVERN Town are aiming to turn the confidence gained from their FA Cup victory into vital league points.

Paul Molloy's side have lost all four of their Southern League Division One Midlands matches so far.

But they defeated Glossop North End 3-0 in the FA Cup preliminary round at the Langlands on Saturday and are hoping that is the catalyst to spark their season.

Town travel to Northamptonshire tomorrow to face a Woodford United side who haven't registered a goal in their first three league matches (3pm).

Like Malvern, however, they did get off the mark in the FA Cup, winning 2-1 at Redbridge.

Manager Molloy said: "It was good to get a win and hopefully we can take that into the Woodford game and build on it.

"The last half-an-hour we played well so hopefully we can transfer that into points.

"We haven't had the easiest of starts so we are not getting too down at the moment. We are just hoping to get some points on the board."

Striker Ed Lyons is a doubt for the game through work commitments, while defender Karl Smith has had his suspension extended until October 14.

Smith was due to be back later this month after being sent off playing Sunday league football last season. But a further red card, also last season, has since seen that ban increased.
