THOUSANDS of Morgan sports cars will be returning to Malvern this weekend for a special celebration.

Thrill on the Hill marks 50 years of the classic Morgan Plus 8, and an impressive line-up of the cars is promised, including the first that the company ever made, which is being brought back from the USA specially for the event.

Festivities kick off on Saturday, August 11, at the factory in Pickersleigh Road with live music from Soul Traffic and the Rockabellas.

The entertainment extends beyond Morgan motoring, with beauty treatments, a classic barber service offering men’s grooming, and a traditional fairground.

There will be artisan food, crafts and guided tours of the Morgan factory, with a firework display at the end of the day.

On Sunday, the action continues at the Prescott Hill Climb where visitors will be treated to a day of motorsport as hundreds of Morgans take to the track.

Visitors can power around the course in their own Morgans, or jump in the passenger seat of a factory car for pre-bookable timed runs.

The lunchtime parade features an entire squadron of Morgans before Richard Goodwin performs stunts in his Pitts S2S biplane.

And also Sunday features a repeat of last year’s successful inaugural Pickersleigh 3 run, with three-wheelers setting out from the factory to the Prescott Hill Climb.

Managing director Steve Morris said: “We’re excited to announce the return of Thrill on the Hill for 2018. Our annual summer events have continued to prove popular among owners and enthusiasts alike, and we expect this year to be better than ever as we welcome visitors from around the world to celebrate 50 years of the Morgan Plus 8.

"I’m particularly excited that we are able to bring the very first Plus 8 back to the UK from the USA specifically for the event. We look forward to seeing everyone.”
