CHRIST CHURCH

IT really was a “let them eat cake” afternoon! But, before then they had delicious sandwiches too!

We all had such a wonderful afternoon when we entertained 40 guests, kindly brought by the Community Action volunteers and drivers.

Brian, not only our organist but also our star baker, made the most fantastic offerings and we all had the all important opportunity to chat and enjoy each other’s company.

Aileen said that you could tell how much they were enjoying it by the volume level, it was quite high!

Then there was the serious business of sampling all the show stopping centre pieces, Brian made a special one for each of the tables.

The proclaimed winner was the strawberry and cream cake, who needs Wimbledon!

To finish off a wonderful afternoon, Brian played a variety of songs and we all had a sing along, Abba being a favourite, so “Thank you for the music” Brian and for making it such a special time. He is a Christ Church treasure, if not a National (yet!)

More tea and cakes can be experienced at our annual” Suzuki” concert on Saturday, August 4 at 7.30 p.m., where entry is free , with a retiring collection for the work of Christ Church. The concert involves students and teachers from across the globe playing flute and recorder. We very much look forward to seeing you there
