MALVERN residents, dignitaries, police and children from the Grove Primary School attended a parade for the second annual Firefighters’ Memorial Day.
A minute's silence was observed on Friday, May 4, at the fire station in Worcester Road, commemorating the bravery and sacrifice of fire fighter who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The parade started with a 30-second sounding of a fire siren, followed by the silence at noon.
Station commander Stew Dewar said: “It was pleasing to see the turnout by the local community and our partner agencies to support this most poignant event.
“I would like to express my thanks to the crews from Malvern for their assistance with organising and promoting the event and subsequently entertaining the 55 children from Grove Primary School. This is something we will definitely look to repeat next year.”
