MARVIN the Shark, the mascot of the Malvern Active Fitness Centre, has raised more than £1,000 for Children in Need.
Marvin was joined on the costumed hike by Father Christmas and mascots Twinkle Star from All Stars Cricket, Nile the Crocodile from Worcestershire County Cricket Club and West Bromwich Albion's Baggie Bird.
Ben Avery, duty manager at the Malvern College-based sports complex, said: “We wanted to do something a little different this year - the sight of a giant fluffy blue shark accompanied by a large star, a throstle bird dressed in a football kit and Father Christmas, all walking up the Worcestershire Beacon together was most definitely different.
“Having doubled our fundraising target, we’re truly grateful for the overwhelming support we received from local sporting organisations, as well as Malvern College, the Malvern Hills Trust and Bright Sky Videos.”
Before setting off, BBC Children in Need’s very own mascot, Pudsey Bear, visited the group to wish them the best of luck.
