CONCERNS have been raised over the size of an agricultural building proposed as part of plans to create a wildlife conservation area in a field next to Duckswich House.

Maurice and Valerie Reynolds want to build the barn as part of plans to turn a derelict 10-acre field next to the former nursing home into a lush wildlife paradise.

Speaking at a meeting of Upton Town Council's planning committee, Coun Paul Thomas said it looked like a huge building, almost the size of a house.

Coun Mary Wilkinson said the design was very fancy, and seemed rather excessive for a barn. "However I am very welcoming to the wildlife and wetland development they have planned for the site," she added.
