THE letters from Jan Dyer and Mrs F J Pritchard (Your Letters, June 22) seem rather patronising.

My wife and I are fully aware that Green and Away's tented village proposal at Bransford is for educational purposes and that their ethos is benign, having nothing to do with rock festivals, heavy drinking or electronic music etc. We do question why Bransford is "fortunate to be chosen to host this progressive and enlightening event".

Our concerns are with the logistics of the proposal. It is intended to be built within a seven week period between each July and August, during which a series of courses at some £170 per head will be attended by around 200 people each time.

We cannot believe that the sound of their revelry in the evenings, including dancing and acoustic music with a bar, will not carry as far as homes in the near vicinity such as ours. We are also concerned at the inevitable increase in traffic movement from the busy A4103 at the Bank House roundabout.

The proposed centre is very close to the Teme, and becomes very boggy after heavy rain. More seriously it is liable to flooding after the river becomes swollen following prolonged stormy conditions. Therefore we believe the village' should be located in a more suitable region such as the Brecon Beacons National Park.
