MARTIN Setchell, professor of organ at Christchurch University, New Zealand, will give a organ recital at Great Malvern Priory tomorrow (Saturday) at noon.

A native of Blackpool, he emigrated to New Zealand and is now a renowned international recitalist. He has also recorded several CDs and DVDs.

Martin aims to make his organ concerts of wide appeal and he believes that organ music can and should be entertaining. This is certainly reflected in his choice of music for his Malvern recital, which includes Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March No 4, Robert Prizeman's Toccata for the TV series Songs of Praise and Dances from Edward German's Henry VIII.

Admission is free but there will be a retiring collection in aid of Priory funds. A large-screen video display will show the organist at work.

Full details of the recitals are given on the website www.malvernprioryorgan.org.uk.
