OUTER Limits met at the vicarage on Saturday. After a quick game of rounders, 22 members were busy making their own pizzas.

Members were also busy deciding how they were going to spend grant money and finalising details for a chill room. The next event will be car washing and a garden sale on July 21, 10-noon. If your car needs washing bring it along! You can pay what you think the work is worth.

Well done to Longdon Brownies who won the Brownie sports day on Wednesday, June 20, at Welland for the second year running!

Tomorrow (Saturday) is the benefice trip to Bath. We hope the weather is good and that everyone has a great time.

Also tomorrow, it is ceilidh night at Longdon Village Hall. Longdon St Mary's PTFA invite everyone to an evening of music, song and dance. There will be a bar and please bring a plate of food. The evening runs from 7pm until 10pm. Everybody is welcome, from beginners to the experienced. A caller will be on hand to guide you through all the dances. On Sunday, Queenhill Church is holding a lunch party at Holdfast Post at noon. This is in aid of the appeal for St Nicholas' Church. The event will include a meeting of a century of veteran, vintage, classic and thoroughbred cars. Tickets cost £20 and include lunch and wine, £5 for children under eight. Bridge Builders and Distinctive meet at the vicarage on Sunday, 11.15am-12.30pm. If you are aged between five and 16, come along and find out what we get up to. Chocolate biscuits are a certainty! We usually end with a quick ball game if it's sunny.

The service at St Mary's Church will be holy communion at 9.30am. Junior and senior choirs meet on Monday at 7pm and also on Friday, 6.30pm for juniors and 7pm for seniors.

St Mary's Church summer concert is on Saturday, July 7, at 7pm in the church. Tickets are £6 to include refreshments, children free. The choir and friends have been working very hard, so do come along and support them. The choir will be performing a mixture of traditional and fun items. There will be solo performances on a variety of instruments and one or two guest solo performances too. The junior choir has a stunning selection of items in preparation.
