THE Midlands Air Ambulance will be opening up its base at Strensham for its annual open day next Saturday, September 10.
The open day is an important event in the charity’s calendar, as it helps to raise vital funds and awareness of the air ambulance's operations across the region.
Members of the public will get the chance to see the helicopters close up, meet their crews and talk about the vital lifesaving work they do.
There will be a range of activities on offer suited to the whole family, and music from the Master Butchers’ Band.
Vehicles from other emergency services will also be on site, and refreshments will be available, with all proceeds going to the charity.
The charity needs to raise £7 million each year to ensure the Midlands Air Ambulance can operate, and the funding is provided wholly by the generosity of public and local businesses.
Michelle McCracken , fundraising manager for the charity in Worcestershire, said: “Our open days are a great way for the public to meet the heroes behind the helicopters. It’s a great family fun day out which will help to save lives in the future.”
The open day runs from 10am to 4pm, and entry and parking are both free.
The air base can be reached at the Strensham northbound service station on the M5 at junction eight.
