THREE runners taking part in the Malvern 10K have raised over £720 for Citizens Advice South Worcestershire, which provides free information, advice and support to residents.

Rupert Needham and Emma and William Brown took part in the race, organised by Malvern Joggers, which was held at Castlemorton Common on Wednesday, June 8.

The services of Citizens Advice is provided mainly by highly-trained volunteers. Over the last 12 months in South Worcestershire, they have helped over 6,000 people with issues ranging from debt, benefits, utility costs, employment disputes, pensions, housing, homelessness, relationship breakups, to cyber-bullying, consumer issues, and much much more.

Chief executive Karen Edwards said: "Not everyone realises that we are an independent charity and have to raise funds to continue offering this invaluable service to our community.

"As we pay special tribute to the work of our marvellous and dedicated volunteers in this, Volunteers’ Week, the support of Rupert, Emma and William is a real boost and we are very grateful for their efforts on our behalf."
