THIS May meeting was our annual meeting where we chose this coming year's committee members and made an anonymous vote for our president. We drew lots to send one of our members to Denman College.
We were reminded of our next walking group meeting to Lascott Gardens on May 19. There were other appointments and reports read about the previous year's business.
On a side table a selection of beautiful posies were there for the members to chose their favourite by donating small change coins and when the winner was chosen the money was donated to ACWI.
Two advisers spoke to the meeting about, " Avoiding food waste and food poverty" and Encouraging the NHS to make sure that patients with Dementia should be able to bring carers into hospital with them".
Both these subjects caused much discussion from the members and ended in a vote to be sent to the next National Meeting.
It is often the case that annual meetings are boring but as this report shows our annual meeting is varied and full of interest and the items led to great discussion during the lovely tea and cakes whilst we bought cakes and vegetables and plants from the produce table.
