A conman pretended to be a television engineer in order to steal a woman's cash.

He knocked on the door and asked if there was a problem with the property's reception. He then asked to see where the television wires were located in the house, and entered.

Once inside he went into her bedroom, where some wiring was evident, and asked the woman to stand with the television and change channels- which was in another room.

While alone in the bedroom he has gone through a handbag and stolen from cash from her purse.

He left and told the woman everything was fine with her television, but she noticed the theft after he had left.

He is described as a white male, around 6’ tall, of large build and aged around 50.

It has also been reported that the conman spoke with a speech impediment and was wearing a dark grey suit jacket, grey shirt dark buttons, embroidered "T" to the collar, blue jeans, brown rimmed glasses, navy with red/white patterned gloves.

It is also believed the male was driving a white L registration Ford transit van.

It happened between 3pm and 4pm on Saturday, March 26 at Newland, near Malvern.
