TWO local choirs - Powick Community Choir and Malvern Parish C of E Primary School Choir - will join Tenors Unlimited when they take to the stage at Malvern Theatres on Friday.

The singers will be joining Tenors Unlimited for their show, From Venice to Vegas, which is being performed at the Malvern venue at 7.45pm.

Powick Community Choir was formed six years ago by musical director Tom Wells, and since its inception, has expanded to attract some 90 members from all across south Worcestershire members.

It sings all styles of music, with an eclectic repertoire ranging from Mozart to Bon Jovi, operates a bursary scheme to support young people in developing their musicianship and each year raises thousands of pounds for local charities.

Rebecca Allen, the music co-ordinator at Malvern Parish Primary, said: “The children in the choir absolutely love singing. Their most recent performance was as part of the Young Voices choir at the Genting Arena in Birmingham, but they have also performed at Malvern Priory and at community events.

"They enjoy singing all kinds of music especially traditional, gospel and pop music. Their current favourite is Power in Me which raises the roof and brings smiles to everyone's faces.”

Tenors Unlimited’s repertoire includes the ever popular classics La Donna E Mobile, The Pearl Fishers Duet and Nessun Dorma, interspersed with crooner and pop favourites such as Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and Summertime.

For over ten years, Scott Ciscon, Paul Martin and Jem Sharples have entertained audiences throughout the world. They have performed alongside such notables as Sting, Lionel Ritchie, Beyonce, Simply Red and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to name a few.
