A PLAN to nearly double the height of a mobile phone mast in the open countryside near the southern end of the Malvern Hills is set to be decided by district councillors.
The application, by Vodafone, is to extend the existing 15-metre mast at Tilterdown Farm, Bushley, to 27 metres, with six antennas at the top.
The proposal is part of Vodafone's fourth-generation, or 4G, network, to bring high-speed date transmission and internet access to its mobile phone customers.
Malvern Hills District Council planning officers are recommending that the plan is approved.
The plan is on the agenda for the district council's southern area development management committee, which meets on Wednesday at 7pm, at the Council Chamber, Avenue Road.
