LAST week's revelation of the penguin warning sign at the junction of the Guarlford Road and the Rhydd prompted a response from online commenter BadgerMash, who said: "This sign has been the subject of "artistic reinterpretation" for some months - if not years.
"I've seen a mammoth and several other creatures in place of the usual cow at various times. If anything, it draws more attention to the sign and is a welcome piece of distinctive humour.
"I hope the highways department don't put a high priority on changing it back. My compliments to the artist. Although, unfortunately, drivers continue to behave dangerously on this road whatever signs are displayed."
Another commenter, Lucky Pants, said: "Penguin!... that really takes the biscuit!"
Meanwhile Pkaos11 was prompted to send in this image taken at the same spot last year. He or she said: "I believe it is a triceratops dinosaur and let's be honest, if there is a risk of these in and around Malvern we do need advance warning."
