THE Upton Scouts are looking for a leader.

The Beavers and the Cubs come from ALL the villages around and not only from Upton and the Cubs now have nowhere to go. They have a thriving Beavers and Cubs troop, so it would be a shame if they have to abandon the Scouts because they haven't a leader. If you think you could help, please ring Mervyn Howells on 01684 310587.

Brownies are back again after their summer holidays. They meet in the Parish Hall on Wednesday evenings during term time from 6.15pm until 7.30pm. If anyone would like to join please ring Alison Smithson on 01684 830180.

The Macmillan Coffee morning in the Church raised £208.60. A very goodly amount, especially as the school was holding one as well. Many of the supporters were visitors to the area and enjoyed a tour around the re-ordered Church as well as the delicious cakes to buy, or a slice to eat with their coffee or tea!

Harvest Supper at St James'Church is on Saturday,October 10 at 7pm. Tickets are £5 and bring your own drink! There will be a music hall type entertainment afterwards and a sing-a-long! The tickets are available from Welland PO and Hanley Swan PO or anyone from the Church. They need to know how many would be coming for the catering, so please let someone know if you will be attending.

Coffee and Chat will be a little later today - 11am, as the school will be in the Church practising for their Harvest Festival Service next week.

Don't forget the indoor Flea Market tomorrow in the Church 9am-3pm and bargains galore!
