MALVERN U15s 22pts, CHADDESLEY CORBETT U15s 0

ON a glorious sunny morning at Spring Lane, the Malvern U15s produced their best performance of the season so far.

The home side were quickly out of the blocks, and within five minutes, Jack Boffy had crossed the line for Malvern's first try.

The Malvern pack took control and with the second row partnership of Anthony Hitchings and Connor Hinton showing the right degree of aggression and determination, the pack took the game to the visitors with powerful rucking and mauling rallied and organised by scrum-half, Joe Harrison.

With much of the play in the Chaddersley 22, another try was on the cards. It soon came with Hinton and captain Andy Brownhill crashing over the try-line together after another excellently controlled maul by the Malvern pack. Malvern were now on the ascendancy and the visitors relief at hearing the half-time whistle was evident.

After the break a rejuvenated Chaddersley squad looked as if they were about to turn the tables. It was Malvern's turn to defend and the challenge was met head-on, with Joe Wilks at inside-centre leading from the front with some crunching hits. The team defence was well organised and as the attempts by the visitors to close on the Malvern line withered, it looked as if the U15s would claim their first win without conceding any points.

After ten minutes of sustained pressure Jack Boffy found room around the defence to cross for Malvern's third try.

The crowd were now on a high and with the elusive win getting ever closer, Malvern turned the screw. Jack Diamond, always posed a danger for the visitors collected a poor clearance from the visitors full-back and with a sublime run and slick off-load he found Byron Eacock who was able to jinx and dart his way over the line for Malvern's fourth try.

When the referee Paul Ferguson finally blew the final whistle, all mayhem broke out as the players, managers and parents celebrated the first win of a very long and frustrating season.
