WHAT was it like to be a Benedictine monk when the Priory was built in 1085?
For an answer to that, talk to any of the 800 or so primary school children from Malvern and the surrounding area who took part in Lifepath last week. They designed stained glass windows, rang handbells, had a go at the building techniques the monks used, learned what happened to anyone who was ill and much more. In addition they thought about their own lifepath. And judging by comments at the end, many would like to come back and do it all again next year.
Lest we seem to be stuck in the 11th and 12th centuries, let me announce the arrival of the Priory app; come in with your smartphones etc and give it a try!
And looking to the future, the Friends of Malvern Priory held their AGM and open day on Sunday and re-affirmed their support of the Priory. A talk by Colonel David Axson on The College of St George, Windsor Castle was well received, telling us much we had never known, and the cream tea set us up for Choral Evensong which rounded off a full day.
