PROGRESSIVE CHRISTIANITY NETWORK MALVERN
The inaugural meeting of the Progressive Christianity Network (PCN) in Malvern took place in April at St Matthias’ Church.
PCN Britain works to promote and support open and contemporary Christian understanding. The meeting was addressed by Richard Tetlow, a PCN Britain trustee, who spoke on The importance of PCN in our global village.
Some further events have been organised. On Sunday, June 14, 3.30pm-5.30pm, at St Matthias’ Church, we have Jesus for the Non-Religious, a John Shelby Spong lecture on the big screen followed by tea, cakes and discussion. On June 21 at Holly Mount Church, Reverend John Churcher, former Chair of PCN, will preach in the morning followed by a lunchtime discussion, Midrash and the Gospel of Mark.
To celebrate the life of Marcus Borg, writer, teacher and major contributor to liberal and progressive Christian thought, a short course asking Jesus Christ? What’s it all about? at St Matthias’ Church is planned for 7.30pm-9.30pm Mondays June 22 and 29 and July 6 and repeated 11am-1pm Wednesdays June 24 and July 1 and 8. This will comprise video, refreshments and discussion.
The autumn programme is being planned. Further details of events will be found on the website www.pcnmalvern.org.uk
