ON Tuesday, October 14 members had their monthly meeting, when the President read out any notices and then had a very interesting talk given by Robert Barber on the subject The History of Sugar at Kidderminster.
He told members how all the local farmers grew the sugar beet and how it was turned into the sugar used today after building a new sugar plant.
The very good thing is that no waste comes from refining the sugar as all waste is used in other different ways, such as animal feed and garden PH enhancement..
A very good talk.
Members then had tea.
The next meeting is on November 11 and the subject is Christmas Crafts.
