THE magnificent St Leonard’s Church and the historic buildings of the Beauchamp Almshouses at Newland, Malvern are a hive of activity this week as preparations are well under way for the 150th Anniversary Flower Festival and Exhibitions.

The Malvern Floral Art Club have designed a superb decorative scheme of displays to compliment the lavish frescos in the church and to enhance the cloisters, medieval chapel, theological library and grand hall.

The Theological Library, which is part of the Almshouses, has a photographic exhibition all about the once famous Newland Choir School and on the history of the almshouses.

Also on show are some of the churches wonderful vestments and robes, together with other historical items related to the almshouses and church.

An event not to be missed and is open this Friday and Saturday from 10am-5pm; Sunday from 3pm-7.30pm and Monday, 10am-4pm Admission is by £3 programme, on sale at the church door and refreshments will also be on sale.
