THE May meeting was well-attended when Ray Sturdy gave us a slide show about the history of photography. He began by reminding us that the human eye works in the same way as pinhole cameras. He then traced the history of photographs from the Daguerreotype to the pioneering work of Fox-Talbot with the negative allowing multiple copies. Ray had brought along some of his collection of cameras which emphasised the change which has taken place in size and technology..

The talk at the June’s meeting will reveal an interesting aspect of tracing your family history – Criminal Ancestors – given by David Hawkings.
