A DEVOTED daughter who is planning a daredevil skydive in memory of her dad says her friends keep telling her she “must be mad” – and that sometimes she thinks they are quite right.

Theresa Perkins will be jumping from 10,000ft in memory of her father, popular Malvern man Peter Flanagan, to commemorate the first anniversary of his death from cancer.

The married mum of three, who is studying midwifery at the University of Worcester, is raising money for St Richard’s Hospice, which supported Mr Flanagan during the final weeks of his life.

Mrs Perkins will be cheered on by about 20 members of her family as she takes the plunge on Saturday, July 20.

She hopes their support will help her overcome and nerves she is feeling about the jump.

“I’ve had a lot of reaction that I am mad, and sometimes I stop myself and think yes, they are right, completely mad,” she said.

“But I’m doing it for my dad and his memory.”

Anyone who would like to support her can visit justgiving.
