THANK you for your comment (June 14) on the subject of beggars.
I thought it was wellconsidered and sensitive.
However, the question remains that if neither traders nor the mayor are “unduly concerned”, and as you give the impression that few members of the public have expressed concern, who has decided that a “crackdown” is needed.
Our hard-pressed police must have higher priorities, surely, than to further drive a wedge between the comfortably-off and the victims of our unforgiving system and Government?
