A PROJECT to bring the bright lights of Hollywood to smaller rural corners of the county has been given a £2,000 cash boost.
Upton Town Council has agreed to donate the money to the Rural Reels project, a drive to provide regular film screenings in nine local halls across the Malvern Hills District area.
While some venues are using temporary equipment, Upton has just had its own permanent equipment fitted at the Memorial Hall, in Old Street.
Backing the donation, Coun John Thompson said: “As a result of this project we now have a superb facility that will benefit the whole community for many years to come.”
The Rural Reels project initially got up-and-running thanks to the donation of £42,500 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Village SOS grant scheme.
