AS the Malvern Gazette’s Ease the Pain appeal continues to bring in the money, Rotarians are appealing for schools and sports clubs to sign up for its Swim4Gold event next month.

Malvern Rotary is supporting the the campaign, which aims to raise £60,000 for a scanner to be used at a pain clinic in Malvern Community Hospital.

Proceeds from its annual Swim4Gold, on Saturday, June 1, will go towards the appeal which now stands at £28,999. David Street of the club said: “The diagnostic capability of the proposed image intensifying scanner will enable a great leap forward in the treatment of musculo-skeletal pain, which is why the Malvern Rotary Club is pleased to support the Malvern Gazette’s appeal.

“The Rotary Club would like all local schools and sports clubs to enter teams in our Swim4Gold fund-raising event. The wonderful venue, the Malvern College sports complex, is provided free of charge by the college, for which Malvern Rotary club is most grateful.”
