SHOP windows in the town centre are a riot of colour this weekend for the Great Malvern Floral Festival.
The festival, now in its fifth year, gives businesses the chance to create unusual shop window displays.
The theme is A Grand Day Out and entries were judged by Bill Simpson and Helen Bainbridge of the RHS. Mr Simpson said: “We always enjoy coming to Great Malvern. The displays are always so colourful and enjoyable to see and this year’s entries are no exception.” This year’s winner was Brays, which created a floral aeroplane with passengers Wallace and Gromit. Audrey Tong of Brays said: “We’re delighted to have won. It was a real team effort.”
The festival is on throughout the weekend with many traders open on Sunday to show off their creations.
A leaflet with a map of participating businesses is available from the Tourist Information Centre and local shops. There is also the opportunity to vote at facebook.com/greatmalvern.
