THE man who mainland Europe hail as England’s new jazz superstar is coming to Evesham next month.

Singer-pianist Anthony Strong will be bringing his version of some timeless jazz classics and retro originals to the Regal on Sunday, February 3.

Last year, the 28-year-old Londoner signed to iconic French label Naïve, which is also home to the likes of Adele, Carla Bruni and Katie Melua, and his debut album for the record company is set to be released throughout Europe in early spring.

On the continent, Anthony has played 12 sell-out shows in Paris, been broadcast on French radio station TSF, performed at Marciac Jazz Festival and played on the Harald Schmidt Television Show in Germany.

This side of the channel he has performed live with Paloma Faith for the BBC’s 2011 New Year’s Eve broadcast from the Savoy Ballroom in London and picked up airplay on the likes of BBC Radio 2, BBC London and Jazz FM.

Doors are at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8pm.

Tickets are £17.50.
