DOG walkers are warned to control their pets after a sheep was mauled to death on the Malvern Hills.

The incident took place on North Hill on Tuesday and was the third of its kind in the last month.

Farmer Matthew Rouse said he has lost almost 20 sheep to dog attacks over the last four years.

He said no one reported the attack to him and the first he knew of it was when he was contacted by the Conservators.

“There was no choice but to put her down,” he said.

“Incidents like this are incredibly distressing for the animals.”

Anyone who sees dogs worrying sheep should call police or the Conservators.
