The X Factor’s Katie Waissel has teased she could be a judge on the show.
The 28-year-old singer, who appeared on the seventh series of the ITV singing contest, sparked speculation she could join the panel after performing on The X Factor final alongside former contestants with a tweet as she prepared to fly to Los Angeles.
Katie, the lead singer of rock band Red Velvet, performed a I’ve Had The Time Of My Life medley with fellow singers Wagner, Chico, Stevi Ritchie and Chloe-Jasmine Whichello.
At the end of their rendition, she was seen mouthing “you owe me” to Simon Cowell.
She explained in her New! column: “I had no idea the cameras were on me when I had my little moment with Simon. I see viewers are fantastic lip readers and yes I did say, ‘You owe me one.’
“Simon and I are as close as pennies in a purse, and yes there are very exciting things to look forward to for next year, so watch this space…”
Katie also teased that she is keen to bring back some rock and roll, following Ronnie Wood’s performance with One Direction at the final.
“This is what I want to bring to The X Factor next year! Bring back the Rock n Roll!” she wrote.
She also posted a note on Instagram, showing her appreciation for the show.
Simon, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Louis Walsh returned to their judges’ chairs for this series, joined by Mel B.
