The Astaria String Quartet will be raising the rafters of The Huntingdon Hall in Worcester this April, with classics both familiar and not so well known.

A spokesman said: "Join the Astaria String Quartet as they play some of classical music’s most famous melodies, and alongside them introduce you to some wonderful music you may not know, like Bax’s String Quartet No.1 with its hints of Irish folk song, and uplifting pieces by Mendelssohn, including one of his beautiful Songs Without Words.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re a classical music novice or enthusiast; there will be something for everyone to enjoy; it may even be something you’ve never heard before!”

The Astaria String Quartet comprises graduates from the Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Music, with Shulah Oliver and Kelly McCusker on violins, Kate Bickerdike on viola and Sean Gilde on cello.

The date for the diary is Thursday, April 4, from 7.30pm.
