MUSIC legend, David Bowie was one of the high-profile celebrity deaths of 2016, but his legacy lives on, as a tribute show at The Swan Theatre in Worcester will reveal.

The legacy he left his fans is a superb catalogue of music from a stellar 40-plus year career, from Space Oddity to his stunning last album, Blackstar.

And now a local audience can enjoy a show called Ultimate Bowie, for a walk down Memory Lane to the tunes of the Starman himself.

During his lifetime his record sales, estimated at 140 million albums worldwide, made Bowie one of the world’s best-selling music artists.

A spokesman said: “In an authentic celebration and salute to David Bowie, aka Ziggy Stardust and The Thin White Duke, Ultimate Bowie will transport you across the golden years of Bowie, from Spaceboy to Superstar. Starring the remarkable Ed Blaney as the man himself, this is the UK’s No. 1 David Bowie tribute show.

“Media in the UK and internationally, as well as, more importantly for Ed, Bowie fans themselves, have highlighted the fact that Ed possesses Bowie’s awe-inspiring vocal prowess. A performer who easily commands the eyes of the audience every moment he is on stage, Ed blends past and present, showing the many sides of Bowie’s personality. There is a precise attention to detail throughout; from Ed’s musical direction of his seven-piece band through to the costumes he wears to recreate Bowie in spectacular style.”

The spokesman added: “Ed Blaney’s Ultimate Bowie delivers a stunning two-hour show of Bowie classics, from Space Oddity and Let’s Dance to David’s latest massive hit, Blackstar.

“The band is not called “Ultimate Bowie” for nothing – this show captures the essence and authenticity of a legend live in concert.”
