The local Inn, The Plough and thriving Village Hall offer a great local community spirit.

Stoke House • The property was built in 1935 by the Morgan family (of Morgan car fame) purportedly for their daughter. The house is typical of the period offering good sized square rooms, large windows, high ceilings, picture rails and a beautiful oak staircase.

• An entrance porch provides access to the impressive reception hall and cloakroom with a turned Oak staircase leading to the first floor; and patio doors leading into the garden.

• The dining room is a dual aspect room with a fireplace and Clearview wood-burning stove with a large bay window overlooking the gardens and paddock. The sitting room benefits from patio doors opening to the gardens and enjoying views over the paddock. Notable features include a fireplace with marble surround and mantle, and a mirror above with decorative surround.

• The kitchen is situated to the front of the house with a good range of fitted units and has access into a large utility room with doors to the front and side elevations and a second staircase to the first floor/ 5th bedroom and en-suite.

• On the first floor, a galleried landing provides access to 4 bedrooms and a family bathroom. There are 3 well-proportioned double bedrooms and a single bedroom. Both the main and the 2nd bedroom have en-suite shower rooms and beautiful views over the gardens and paddock beyond.

• Off the 3rd bedroom, a door gives access to the 5th bedroom with en-suite shower room. This room is currently used as an office/study and can also be accessed via the staircase off the utility room.

The Outside • The house is approached over its own gravelled driveway and has ample parking and turning areas. There is a double garage with an electric door; internally this has a wood-burning stove and a staircase to the loft storage. The garage is linked to the house via a covered area and outside W.C.

• The extensive gardens are laid predominantly to lawn, interspersed with flower and shrub beds and contains a number of mature trees. There are numerous patio and seating areas and a summerhouse currently used as a studio. A beautiful curved beech hedge divides the garden from the paddock and orchard.

• The paddock can also be accessed off the driveway; separately to the house and there is a useful hardstanding area for cars or machinery. There is a garden store and workshop (with a 15 Amp rated power supply) and a field gate provides access into the attractive paddock, bordered on one side by the River Lodon and containing a number of attractive trees.
