McMURRY (née Wiggins) Amanda Of Ledbury, Herefordshire died September 3rd, 2018 in Ledbury. Amanda was born on November 15th, 1945 in Watford to the late George Wiggins (d, 1986) and Gladys Wiggins née Underhill (d, 2009). She lived the majority of her young life Hertfordshire, working as a telephonist and later as a hotel receptionist in Watford. Following her marriage on the September 5th, 1968 to Norman Leon McMurry she lived throughout the UK, Ireland, the Middle East and South America, moving with her husband related to his work in the pipeline industry. With the birth of her two daughters, Amanda and her family settled in Bedfordshire. She then split her time between Florida in the US and Ledbury. Amanda had a great passion for life that was evident until the hour of her death from bile duct cancer. She pursued multiple treatments in the United States with great bravery. She loved travel, British history, geneaology, gardening, needlework and her children and grandchildren. For over a decade she particularly loved her work as a guide at Eastnor Castle, and at the Sue Ryder shop in Ledbury. Amanda is survived by her husband of 50 years; a sister, Emmy Hazelton of Barnard's Green and a brother, Ben Wiggins of Castlemorton. She was a beloved mother to daughters Dr. Sarah A. McMurry-Hogue, of Chicago, Illinois USA; Amy McMurry-Taylor, DVM of Queensland, Australia; and sons-in-law, Charles W. Hogue, MD of Chicago, and Christopher Taylor, Queensland. Amanda was a doting grandmother to Emily, Oliver, and Henry Hogue as well as James Taylor. Her funeral will occur on September 17th 2018 at 11 a.m. at Great Malvern Cemetery Chapel (Madresfield Road, Great Malvern) followed immediately by a burial. In lieu of flowers please could there be donations to AMMF for cholangiocarcinoma The Funeral Director is Holland's of Barnard's Green
