WORCESTER Wolves have re-signed Alejandro Navajas for his second campaign with the club.

Last season Navajas was involved in the British Basketball League play-off semi-finals after Wolves enjoyed a 16-game unbeaten run towards the end of the campaign to finish fifth in the table.

The Spaniard, 30, says his focus this season is on winning silverware with the University of Worcester-owned side.

"I am happy to be back and be part of this wonderful organisation,” he said.

“I hope we can celebrate a title with our fans this upcoming season. Let's go Wolves!"

The 6ft 7in forward previously experienced success with Spanish Second Division side Marin, helping them secure the league and cup double in the 2015-16 season.

Dale Ryan, the university’s director of basketball, said: "We are very pleased Alejandro has made the decision to return for another season with the club.

“His performance, especially throughout the second half of last season and during the play-offs, was a key factor in many of our wins and overall success.

“We will be looking for Alejandro to bring leadership, his trademark physical defence and propensity for making big game shots as we endeavour to bring a championship back to Worcester.

“I am sure I share the sentiments of fans, in welcoming Alejandro back to Wolves and the Wolfpack family.”

Navajas is the second player to return for Wolves after Ashton Khan re-signed for his third season and will also join new recruit Brandon Parrish for the 2017-18 campaign.

The first competitive game is against London Lions at the University of Worcester Arena on Friday, September 29.
