HEAD coach Paul James is looking forward to seeing how his “full-strength” Worcester Wolves side fare against Glasgow Rocks tomorrow (5pm).

Rocks have beaten Wolves twice in the British Basketball League this season and will be gunning to complete a hat-trick at the Emirates Arena.

But James insists they were under strength on both occasions with just five senior players making the journey to Glasgow in November.

Despite pushing them hard the hosts claimed a 82-77 success, backing up their 94-81 victory at the University of Worcester Arena in October.

“They have obviously played better than us,” James said.

“But we were not at full strength for either of those games.

“I think the last time we played them away we had five-and-a-half fit players and we only just lost the game and they are a good team.

“They are not fourth in the league by accident so we will need to go up there and play well.

“But hopefully we will be at full strength and will continue to play the way we have been playing.

“I am sure it will be another outstanding game.”

But having lost their last five visits to the Scottish side, including a 90-53 thrashing in last season’s play-offs, James is well aware of the challenge facing his in-form team.

Wolves will also need to recover quickly after taking on high-flying Newcastle Eagles at home on Friday night.

“It is tough as we have got the second-placed and fourth-placed team and we have got that long trip to Glasgow so that will be a very early start for us,” James added.

“There will not be much time to get off the coach and prepare ourselves properly. But it is what it is.

“We have just got to be professional and make sure we recover as well as we possibly can and get the sleep we need, hydrate properly and make sure once we step out on the court we give it everything we have.

“Hopefully our game-plan will be good and we will get a win up there.”
