WORCESTER Wolves are set to be boosted by the return of Andrew Bachman for tonight’s trip to Sheffield Sharks in the British Basketball League (7.30pm).

The small forward missed Wolves’ 103-84 victory over Surrey Scorchers last Friday due to a back problem.

However, head coach Paul James expects the American to feature against Sharks as Worcester bid to stretch their winning streak to four matches.

Wolves will also be buoyed by their 99-68 victory over Sheffield last month which saw them reach the BBL Trophy quarter-finals.

But James believes Sheffield will be determined to “gain revenge” when they lock horns at the English Institute of Sport.

“It is a massive game for us again,” said James whose seventh-placed side will be looking to close the gap on the top six.

“It is a chance for us to put pressure on teams above us and continue the form we have been in.

“But Sheffield are a very good team on their own floor and we are going to have to play every bit as well as we have done in the last few games to get a result.”

Sheffield are two places and six points above Wolves in fifth.

James continued: “They will certainly want to gain revenge. Last time out we outworked them, everything they tried we shut down and it clicked for us so hopefully that will happen again.”

Wolves then visit Surrey Scorchers on Sunday (2pm) in the Trophy last eight.

But having recently travelled to Newcastle Eagles and London Lions in one weekend and returned with maximum points James is in confident mood.

“We have shown we can deal with those sorts of solutions so it is nothing foreign to us,” he said.

“We will be playing against two very good teams and hopefully we can go out and perform in both games again.

“I think we will pretty much be at full strength as Andrew will be back for the game. He had a back spasm but that’s all sorted out.”

James was named coach of the month for January following his side’s resurgence in form but added: “We are not getting complacent.

“The last game has gone now so we have to look forward to the next and know we will have to work just as hard against Sheffield and Surrey if we want a result.”
