SWINGMAN Danny Huffor is aiming to mark his 30th birthday with another “30-point game” and a Worcester Wolves victory at Bristol Flyers tomorrow night (7.30pm).

The former Glasgow Rocks and Cheshire Phoenix player said he had been looking forward to his “big day” and the prospect of coming up against eight-placed Flyers.

But Huffor admitted he would “feel sick” if he did not guide Wolves to their sixth win of the British Basketball League campaign.

“I will be turning 30 so it is a big day for me,” he said.

“I don’t know whether it is a good or bad thing because the game is going to dictate my mood.

“If we win I will be feeling on top of the world but if we lose then I am going to be feeling sick to my stomach.

“I love the fact we have got a game on my birthday but we have got to win it.”

Huffor was the star of the show at the University of Worcester Arena last Friday as he scored 31 points in a 99-68 victory over Sheffield Sharks in the BBL Trophy first round.

The American, who can play at guard or forward, is determined to put in another fine performance and show his best years are still ahead of him.

“I am getting old but as you saw last week I have still got legs like a 21-year-old," he continued.

“I am hoping to be efficient and if I could get another 30-point game I would be very happy with myself.”

Huffor said it was also important he and his team-mates did not get “too big-headed” after ending Sharks’ five-match winning streak.

“Sheffield went undefeated in December which was big for them and they came here with a lot of confidence but we knocked them off,” he added.

“That was a good sign for us but you can’t get too big-headed about one big win because the turnaround is so quick.

“We have got Bristol now and we have lost one and won one against them so obviously that is a must-win for us.”
