WORCESTERSHIRE Seconds suffered an innings and 127 runs defeat inside two days to Somerset Seconds at Taunton Vale.

The home side totalled 471 all out in their first innings, Adam Hose top-scoring with 137 and Charlie Morris and Pat Brown claiming three wickets apiece.

Then Worcestershire were bowled out for 213 in 52.4 overs after Tom Kohler-Cadmore (55) top-scored for the second time in the game.

Keeper Joe Dodd and Brown showed some resistance during a last wicket stand of 48 after five wickets had fallen at one stage for 16 runs.

Paul van Meekeren with 7-48 in 14 overs did most of the damage for Somerset.

The Seconds will now look to bounce back in next week's opening Championship match with Warwickshire at RGS Worcester.

Somerset resumed on 274-5 from 57 overs and Morris enjoyed a couple of early breakthroughs.

Tom Banton added only two to his overnight 25 before he fell lbw in Morris' first over of the morning and Josh Davey (25) departed to the same bowler at 308-7.

But Michael Leask dominated the remainder of the innings in making an aggressive 86 from 90 balls with one six and 14 fours.

He featured in stands of 85 in 13 overs with Hose and 74 in 11 with Max Waller (40) as Somerset stretched their lead to 340.

Morris ended with 3-75 from 16 overs and his new ball partner Pat Brown 3-83 from 13.1 overs.

Openers Ollie Westbury (33) and George Rhodes (23) played positively when Worcestershire launched their second innings.

They put on 56 in 13 overs before Rhodes pulled Van Meekeren into the hands of short mid wicket.

Westbury was caught behind off the same bowler for 33 at 75-2 and the very next ball saw Alexei Kervezee (0) pouched at third slip.

Kohler-Cadmore adopted an ultra aggressive approach and scored 40 of a third wicket partnership of 46 with Ross Whiteley.

He smashed 12 boundaries in his 33 ball innings before being bowled by Ollie Sale at 121-4.

Alex Hepburn had the misfortune to complete a pair in the game, caught behind off Van Meekeren The next over from Van Meekeren also saw the end of Whiteley who was bowled for 33 off 41 balls with four fours and a six at 154-6.

The wickets continued to tumble with Adam Wiffen (2) and Ben Twohig (6) falling cheaply to Davey and Van Meekeren respectively.

Van Meekeren bowled Adam Finch (3) to claim his final success before Dodd (27) and Brown (22 not out) held out for 13 overs either side of a delayed tea until the former was bowled by Max Waller.
