WARRIORS
6 Adams – coped well under the high ball but did not get much of a chance in attack to prove Wales’ selectors wrong after his international omission.
7 HEEM – made a try-saving tackle in the opening few minutes and caused problems when he did get hold of the ball. My man of the match.
6 Pennell – moved to outside centre following Willison’s absence through injury, the ace got stuck in and converted his three kicks at goal.
5 Mills – his poor kick out of hand straight to Marshall led to Irish’s only try through van Zyl and was penalised on one too many occasions.
6 Hammond – drafted into Warriors’ starting line-up, the wing did not see much of the ball but handled himself well in defence.
5 Shillcock – failed to stamp his authority on the game and his inexperience showed at times with some of his kicks going astray.
6 Hougaard – was undone by the bounce of the ball as van Zyl swept in to score but plugged away before being forced off with a blow to his ankle.
5 Waller – had a tough afternoon as he made the odd mistake in the loose and Warriors’ scrum creaked less after he was replaced by Bower.
5 Haupt – Singleton’s injury presented the hooker with an opportunity but he made far too many errors in attack and defence.
6 Schonert – had a real battle with former New Zealand prop Franks in the scrum which did not always go his way as Worcester’s scrum came under pressure.
6 O’Callaghan – did not do too much wrong before being replaced at half-time by Bresler who struggled to get going in the second period.
6 Barry – picked ahead of fit-again Spencer, the lock completed his tackles but failed to drive his side forward.
6 Fa’osiliva – made a strong start with a series of carries but spent most of the match on the back foot as Irish had more possession.
7 Lewis – alongside Heem, the flanker was the only other player who could hold his head up high following a committed and tough-tackling display.
6 van Velze – made a steal on Warriors’ try-line as Irish pushed for a second try but the number eight was also guilty of mistakes.
