DIRECTOR of rugby Alan Solomons said he was “pleased” with the way his squad was coming together for the 2018-19 campaign.

And Worcester Warriors’ chief admitted supporters should expect more “positive” news to come.

The Sixways side will lose David Denton and Will Spencer to Leicester Tigers while Jackson Willison has agreed to join Bath.

But Solomons has bolstered his ranks with the signings of Callum Black (Ulster), Ashley Beck (Ospreys) and Cornell du Preez (Edinburgh) who will arrive in the summer.

Warriors have also retained Ryan Mills, Sam Lewis, Wynand Olivier, Marco Mama, Niall Annett, Joe Taufete’e, Dean Hammond and Luke Baldwin.

Asked whether Worcester were set to make more announcements, Solomons said: “I am sure that things will unfold in a positive way, I have no doubt about that.

“There has been quite a lot of hard work done and I am pleased with the way things are starting to come together.”

Black will return to Warriors after leaving the club in 2011 to join Ulster. The 31-year-old came through the ranks at Sixways and made 51 first-team appearances.

Solomons said: “It is great to have Callum back.

“We have got Ethan Waller and Ryan Bower but we desperately needed that third loosehead and to get a player of his calibre is fantastic.”
