Managing director Gus Mackay has made a statement on Worcester Warriors' future.

Statement in full

"You may be aware of recent media reports regarding the future of the club and, as season Ticket holders, I just wanted to clarify to you our position on this matter.

"Our position remains unchanged from our statement we issued a few weeks ago, in which we specified that we were looking for investment, that there were no timelines and that it is essential we find the right partner.

"Furthermore, our current shareholders are committed to funding the club for the foreseeable future or until the right partner is found.

"As we know, investing in a business comes in many forms and that includes money to support the existing shareholders through to outright purchase.

"Any proposed funding structure has to be in the best interests of the club, supporters, commercial partners and staff.

"The article in The Times today further highlights the fact that we are not the only Aviva Premiership club looking for investment and that some clubs are finding it increasingly difficult to be profitable with rising costs.

"On the rugby front it has been a difficult start to the season for Gary Gold and the squad and I ask that you remain patient and continue to support the team.

"The good news is that funds have been made available to recruit players for key positions to cover for injuries and to strengthen the squad.

"Many thanks for your support and we will keep you updated as and when we can. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at our next home game on Friday, September 29 against Saracens here at Sixways."
